Ingredients

  • 400g tinned pilchards in tomato sauce
  • 100g red onion chopped
  • 200g (half a can) tinned tomatoes
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 360g fusilli/penne pasta (Spaghetti will do, too)

Method:

1) Heat a high sided pan and cook the onions for a few minutes until translucent.
2) While the onions are cooking bring a pan of water to boil and add the pasta. Cook to packet instructions and drain.
3) Add the pilchards, tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce. Give it a good stir and season to taste.
4) After 10 minutes stir the drained pasta into the sauce and mix.
5) Serve on plates with grated parmesan cheese on top.
